About

Built by someone
who actually
cares.

Hi, I'm Max. My first real project wasn't for a client, it was a tool I built for a Roblox game so me and my friends could stop doing the same tasks over and over. That gap between a problem and something that actually solves it is what hooked me. Typeof Studio exists because that instinct to solve never went away.

How this started

I have been writing code for just over six years. The first two were personal projects, mainly tools for game communities that I was a part of. I made them because they assisted me and some people ended up using them. A few people told me how useful they were and it made me realise I might actually be able to do this.

The last two years have been different. I've been working on real projects with proper consequences when things breaks. This year I landed my first client, Typeof Studio is what that work lives under.

Where I am right now

I am a software engineering student. I am building client software while studying the fundamentals behind it. It allows me to deeply understand and further apply my learning in ways others can't.

I am self-taught first, formally educated second. I built things before I properly understood how or why they work, but now I understand both sides of it.

How I work

I care about the whole thing. Whether the project solves a real problem, the interface makes sense to someone who didn't make it and whether it will still be working in the years to come. This probably comes from me building my own projects, as when it's yours you can't just run from the problems.

Working with me means working with me directly. You will not deal with a project manager or get updates from someone who relays messages. If something is unclear, we talk about it. If something is wrong, I fix it.

What I am building toward

Typeof Studio is intentionally small right now. Small means every project gets real attention. As the work grows, the studio grows with it. The goal is a tight, serious engineering studio that produces work worth pointing at.

If you are a startup or a business that needs software built well and wants to work with someone invested in the outcome, that is exactly who this is for.
